There’s a whole host of options an employer can offer to keep their team happy, but in the end one thing matters the most – getting paid the right amount, on time. At British Nannies we offer a variety of options around pay, so that you can have your well-earned wages the way you want them.

Firstly, thanks to our efficient payroll team, we pay weekly for the hours you’ve worked that week – so you can work on a Thursday, and get paid the very next day for that shift! This means that you can make money very quickly if some extra cash would be useful during a crucial week. Additionally, when switching from one job to working with us, you don’t have the dreaded pay delay between hour submissions and monthly pay checks – it can take up to 2 months to get into your regular pay schedule at monthly-paid roles.

We also offer variety in terms of contract types. Most of our employees are ad-hoc so that work can fit in where you need it to, around your other commitments. If you want to work full-time over summer but only part-time over winter, you can do that all without having the effort of arranging a new contract. For those who need guaranteed income, or proof of, we can also offer set-hour permanent contracts in certain locations and circumstances.

In terms of pay rises, we review hourly rates every 6 months, and also align with organisations including as the Living Wage Foundation – so with good feedback, it’s common for your rate to increase quickly!

Holiday pay is flexible, too. You can choose whether you’d like the option of taking accrued paid holiday, or roll your holiday pay into your hourly rate for a bit of extra cash each week.

On a day-to-day basis, we help towards your commute. If a family is more than 30 minutes away from your home address, all you need to do is let us know, and we can often compensate your time. Certain shifts also have “bonus pay” allocated – so even if you’re not travelling far at all, you can still get up to 4 hours of extra pay!

Recognition is very important to us – for our star caregivers each month, we have rewards beyond just a thank-you, such as gift cards for their hard work going above and beyond for the families in their care.

So, all-in-all, we offer a variety of options. But we’re always trying to improve further, so this list may well expand in the near future. If you have any thoughts or suggestions you’d like to put forward, please let us know!
