British Nannies is pleased to be able to continue to offer a DBS check service in 2018.

DBS stands for the Disclosure Barring Service, and replaces the previous CRB service. British Nannies is authorized to conduct Enhanced DBS checks on behalf of people wishing to work with children. We recommend that you sign up to the DBS Update Service when you receive your new certificate.

At a minimum, we would recommend you renew your DBS check when seeking a new position.

How much does a DBS cost?

The cost for applying for a DBS check through British Nannies is just £80 incl. VAT. You can pay by bank transfer, or by credit / debit card. This cost includes:

  • Use of a quick and efficient online application process
  • Access to our professional document checking service
  • The cost of the DBS certificate itself

How to use our DBS check service

Once you have registered your interest with the British Nannies team, we will send you a link to complete an online application. To complete the DBS online application you will need to have available your passport (from any country), your driving licence (if you have one), and a recent bank statement or utility bill. We will provide you with full details of what documentation is required when you apply.

The Disclosure Barring Service will issue your DBS certificate and send it to you directly. This usually takes less than two weeks and can be as quick as 24 hours, although can take longer during busy periods.

Finally, once you have received your DBS certificate, we recommend that register for the DBS Update Service and that you upload a scanned copy into your online British Nannies profile.
